I am Deepak Rajput. I am doing my Master of Science in Materials Science at the Space Institute, The University of Tennesseee (UTSI) and I joined UT in Fall 2006. I am a graduate research assistant to Dr. William Hofmeister at the Center for Laser Applications (CLA). I obtained my Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering from National Institute of Technology - Trichy, India, in 2004.

Prior to joining UT, I worked in the Research and Development division of Essar Steel Limited, a premier steel making company in India. I worked here for two years in the cadre of engineers and was in charge of the Materials Characterization Laboratory.

  Defended my master's thesis on July the 25th, 2008 in CLA conference room, UT Space Institute.
